- 01With self-publishing, you carry the entire process yourself; finding and paying for editors, designers, formatters, and distributors independently, with no one to guide you through the decisions or catch the things you might not know to look for. With Void Lemon, you have a team working alongside you. We handle the parts you need handled, advise on the parts you are less sure about, and make sure the finished result is genuinely professional, while you retain full creative control over your work.
- 02Traditional publishers employ teams who are largely driven by sales targets and commercial performance metrics. That means the people working on your book are often incentivised to reshape it, your cover, your title, your content, to fit whatever they believe will perform best in the current market, regardless of your original vision. The result is that many authors find their book looks and reads differently to what they wrote by the time it reaches shelves. On top of that, the royalty structure in traditional publishing means authors typically receive only 4% to 10% of the cover price. At Void Lemon, your creative vision leads, the key decisions stay with you, and you earn more from every sale. We are a partner, not a gatekeeper.
- 03Every author's journey looks a little different depending on where they start, but the broad stages are: editorial work (manuscript development, editing, proofreading), design and production (cover design, interior formatting), publishing (print and digital distribution setup), and marketing and promotion. Because we build a bespoke plan for each author, we only include the stages your book actually needs. If your manuscript is already edited and you just need design, distribution, and marketing, that is all we plan for. We will always walk you through your specific plan before anything begins.
